Hello all

NRAS are running a series of employment ‘WorkWise’ workshops for people living with RA. The evening workshops will give you the opportunity to:

• Listen to experts on employment law and occupational therapy
• Find out about what disability law means for you
• Find out some useful everyday tips for dealing with juggling managing your RA and your career

If you think you might be interested in attending one of these WorkWise Workshops please visit our website for more information and how to register!

What a brilliant idea! By the time I had help and information (from the contributors on this site) is was already too late for me. Knowledge is power.

Hi folks,

I would like to thank all of the NRAS team who kindly organised the Bristol NRAS Workwise Workshop last week. It was a brilliant evening and the first time I have attended an event organised by NRAS.

I would highly recommend attending one of the National Workwise Workshops as it was extremely interesting and well presented by Clare Jacklin, Sandra Neylon, Kerri Herbert and Lee Gabbie. Other members of the Nras team were there and I was also fortunate to meet Dana who organises WARM (Weston Area Rheumatoid Matters) in Weston-super-Mare. I enjoyed meeting other people who are interested in ways to keep working.

I found out a great deal of information regarding how to cope at work with RA and what employers can do to assist to make working life much easier. I am very fortunate that my employer is very empathetic and has been exceedingly supportive after I discovered I had RA. I did explain from the onset of the disease about the condition, kind support has been given and this I am sure has helped me to continue working.

Once again I sincerely recommend you attend one of the workshops because you will have a lovely evening, may be able to improve your working life and make new friends!

Enjoy!

Take care,
Lorna

Hello Audrey, I'm glad that you are going. I wanted to go myself but I'm not well enough at the moment to manage attending. It's a shame because I imagine it will be very enlightening. Maybe you could let us know how you got on. Glenys.

Hi All

I went to the work workshop and it was Fantastic it gave you loads of information and time to ask questions,it ran to time with no silly side tacking information the Delivery was very good.
if any of you have the chance to go to one please do so it does enable you to talk and be able to deal with discrimiation with knowledge as you say Knowledge is power, some very good paper work was handed out and one idea which i thought was good was the information was put on memory sticks so you did not have to take notes unless it was a small point so this enabled you to listen to all the information and not miss bits where you where taking notes.

so to all the staff(sorry not good with Names) that was there you need to pat yourselfs on the back it was great.

Looking forward to more workshops like this and they could be about allsorts to do with RA and how to deal with it.

I had only one sad thing I had not picked up any small change and would have liked to have one of the badges so if you have any Ideas how I can get one please let me know and again well Done

Thank you be Safe
Audrey.
